Job Description

  • Rendering of social work services in the field of dementia (including individual counselling, support groups and community development activities)
  • Attend training and personnel development sessions
  • Fundraising in coordination with regional manager
  • Plan and assist with arrangements for all special events including WAD events and awareness campaigns.
  • Organise and present dementia training courses
  • Organise and present awareness talks throughout the region
  • Organise and present radio talks/media exposure in coordination with regional manager
  • Development and implementation of annual Business Plan in coordination with regional manager
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including financial policies
  • Attend all relevant regional stakeholder meetings on behalf of Alzheimer’s South Africa NPC as and when needed.
  • Networking with other NGO’s, initiate partnerships and working agreements with relevant stakeholders including the media
  • Responsible for administrative tasks such as report writing, filing, planning, keeping of statistics.
  • Willingness to work overtime as and when needed and perform reasonable tasks as ordered by regional manager
  • Willingness to travel/use own transport

  •       Degree in Social Work
  •       Registered as social worker with the SACSSP
  •       Relevant experience:  Regional manager 10 years / Social worker – no experience
  •       Valid driver’s license
  •       Computer literate
